Horse 16.1hh 1983 7/8ths BRED Hot Rumour is a homebred son of world leading event horse sire Ben Faerie. His dam, Paprika III, was a top class show hunter winning many Championships under saddle and as a brood mare, including small hunter Champion of Wales. She was also a brilliant hunter and eventer. Rumour is a lovely upstanding horse with bone and substance.
He evented and competed in dressage competitions successfully in his youth.
He then returned home to take up stud duties, combined with hunting on
Exmoor. |

This is a rare opportunity as he is one of the only full thoroughbred sons of Ben Faerie standing at stud today. Ben's Affaere has quite exceptional movement and a kind, generous disposition like his famous father. His dam, Regal Lock, never raced but comes from a long established chasing family, with Spartan General as her dam's sire. Ben's Affaere has covered mares from thoroughbreds to halfbred mares and his youngsters now include in hand show Champions at County level. He is bred in the blue for eventing and he is already producing horses of exceptional promise, with very correct conformation and fabulous movement. |

Role was carefully chosen to replace the great
Ben Faerie on his retirement, being of a similar stamp
and type. Future
Role is proving very popular on all types of mares from polo
ponies to draught types and thoroughbreds, passing on his quality and
superb movement. His progeny are winning regularly in the show ring, including
overall in hand Championships. The homebred Wild Card competed very successfully
in British Dressage (2nd in the Southern Dressage Finals) & is Horse
Trialling at Intermediate level. There are some lovely horses to appear
in the near future. His sire, Rolfe,
sired over one hundred winners on the flat and National Hunt including
Might Flutter (3rd in the Derby) and many leading jumpers such as Tree
Poppy, Dun Gay Lass, General Wolfe and Lady Rebecca. |
